REACH112
REACH112 (REsponding to All Citizens needing Help) is making the 'telephone call' accessible for all people. From a simple video chat all the way to 999/112 Emergency Services.
REACH112 is a three year project partially funded by the European Commission under the ICT PSP CIP programme. It has 22 partners in Europe, including user organisations and major global telecommunications companies.
Reach 112 has three main goals:
- To increase opportunities for all people to communicate at distance in video, voice and text.
- To provide the relay services to allow people who use Total Conversation to reach the population who use voice telephones
- To provide direct access to emergency services (999,112) through 'Total Conversation'
The project runs from July 2009 until June 2012.
