AuPix announces affordable Video PBX solutions

16th June 2006

AuPix today announces the availability of two key infrastructure solutions, the AuPix Video PBX and the AuPix Video Contact Centre.

“In these latest additions to our portfolio, we have added video to the features customers might typically expect from voice only PBXs and contact centres,” said Graham Brown, AuPix managing director. “As well as video end points, we are now able to provide a more complete solution for customers like medical contact centres and customer help point service providers as well as for those companies who want to add video support to their existing PBXs.”

The video PBX enables features including video hold and resume, attended and unattended video call transfer, music and video on hold, interactive video response and video mail. The video contact centre adds the functionality required specifically by contact centres like 3 way calling, agent log on and log off, supervisor available and call statistics and reporting. The systems are standards based enabling the majority of 3rd party video end points to be supported. Gateways are also included to allow interfaces to other telephony systems.

“One customer of ours has recently deployed this solution for a video relay service for the deaf in the US,” stated John Martin, AuPix technical director. “Deaf users from all over the US with a range of video end points call into the service and are transferred to a sign language interpreter of their choice (gender, language, familiarity). The interpreter, who can be working from an office or home location, then dials in a 3rd party and interprets on behalf of the deaf person.”
