The international business community is benefiting from the enterprising efforts of Graham Brown and John Martin.

They have been among the pioneers in the field of video telephony and have attracted venture capital and angel investment of around £750,000 to help develop their products and services. And now they have been awarded Evening Post/Jurys Hotel Business Persons of the Month.

Graham and John launched AuPix in 2005 after working together at Motion Media plc. They bought out the rights to the Motion Media mm745 videophone platform and recruited former Motion Media engineers to help them continue its development.

Today they head a 10-strong team based at their own premises at the Eden Office Park in Ham Green, near Bristol, and are providing high quality IP voice and video solutions to business customers both at home and overseas.

Graham, aged 48, said the attracting of venture capital was a vote of confidence in the company which is operating in a market with considerable growth potential.

“Our products are affordable, easy to use and interface with other telephony systems and these factors combined with a high level of service, are definitely proving attractive to our customers.” he said.

John, 40, said besides providing its own world class products, a key focus for AuPix is entering into OEM relationships with partners to enable them to bring their own videophones to market.

Presenting the two with a piece of Bristol Blue Glass at a celebration lunch, Jurys General Manager Jason Nixon said AuPix was a great example of enterprise at work in the region.

Award scheme winners are nominated by Evening Post readers and Jurys Hotel, as well as Business West, chartered accountants Solomon Hare and the Brave Enterprise Agency.
